Born Stanley Martin Lieber, Stan Lee was famous for creating the characters we know and love in the Marvel Universe. He made brilliant cameos in Marvel films and attended comic conventions worldwide to a sea of adoring fans. Though he passed away before Avengers Campus opened in Disney’s California Adventure park, he has recently been honored with a permanent plaque at the entrance to the land. The bronze plaque immortalizes a quote and a thank you from the Walt Disney company.

That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt a real superhero.”

The plaque continues with the dedication from Disney: Thank you, Stan, for inspiring the hero within each of us. You have made us all True Believers.

What attractions are in Avengers Campus?

In Phase One, Avengers Campus offers two attractions. Initially, the Tower of Terror occupied California Adventure’s Hollywood Land. It was rethemed to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout in 2017 and added to Avengers Campus as part of the attraction’s storyline in 2021. The second attraction is Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure. Peter Parker invites guests to participate in a 3D interactive ride to stop replicating Spider Bots from destroying Avengers Campus. A third E-Ticket attraction is slated for Phase Two, but attraction details have not been released to the public since Disneyland’s closure. We’re crossing our fingers that we’ll hear more about the third attraction in Anaheim’s upcoming D23 Convention in September.
