For the past century, Disney has been entertaining families with award-winning movies and theme parks around the globe. There’s a bit more magic in the world with Disney around. In January 2023, Disneyland will celebrate 100 years of Disney with a new look for Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, new nighttime spectaculars, merchandise, food, and a new feature film introduction.
What’s coming to Disneyland in 2023?
Several new shows and a parade that had a short premiere at Disneyland will be returning in 2023.
Magic Happens will be making a magical comeback in 2023. Join Sorcerer Mickey as he conjures magical floats from Moana, Coco, Frozen II, and the Princess and the Frog. The daytime and nighttime parade premiered in February of 2020 for a limited number of days before the park closed for a record 412 days. It will be a joy to see this incredible show make its way down Main Street U.S.A. again.
New Décor and Fountains will decorate Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. You’ll want to take your best family photos in front of the castle in 2023. It will feature an updated look and dawn elegant platinum decorations for the “Disney100” celebration along with sparkling new fountains in the moat.
World of Color – One is a reimagining of the World of Color spectacular at Disney’s California Adventure Park. Enjoy a colorful, musical journey through years of cherished Disney animation with this new story of how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change. The show will feature a new song, called “Start a Wave”.
Wondrous Journeys will be a new fireworks and projections spectacular that will light up Sleeping Beauty’s Castle on select nights during the event. Disney’s press release said, “It will continue to build upon the park’s state-of-the-art projection effects, turning Main Street, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the facade of “It’s a Small World” and the Rivers of America into an artist’s canvas that brings characters to life all around you as fireworks dance in the sky.”
A Special Event is Happening in Toontown
Ahead of the opening of the reimagined land in the spring of 2023, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be opening to guests at the Happiest Place on Earth. This groundbreaking trackless attraction features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto in an all-new adventure.
