Dreams Do Come True in New Orleans

D23 is off to a great start in Anaheim, California, and it’s only going to get better this weekend! On Friday afternoon, news began to trickle down to social media that New Orleans Square will get a lot of attention in Disneyland.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Guests of Disneyland and Disney World have known for the past couple of years that Splash Mountain would be getting a huge re-theming. Brer Rabbit and friends will move out, and Tiana is moving in. In 2020 we saw concept art depicting the facade of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure sporting a massive tree and Mama Odie’s wrecked houseboat, but what guests were treated to during the event was considerably different.

I don’t know about you, but the drop looks even more terrifying without the Briar Patch to hide some of that plummet. We should be expecting to hear more about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure during the Disney Parks panel on Sunday. You can watch the live broadcast of D23 during Expo hours from the link on our website.

What’s Next for New Orleans Square?

TianashopsDuring a New Orleans Square refurbishment, the Le Bat en Rouge shop was closed, and signs in the windows suggested a new restaurant might be coming to the location. This location will be the new home of Eudora’s Chic Boutique, Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets Shop. The shops will feature clothing, accessories, and cookware. The doors will be wide open for guests starting September 20th, 2022.

Do you remember we mentioned a new restaurant? The word on the street is that Tiana’s Palace will be opening up, but it wasn’t entirely clear if one of the existing restaurants is being rethemed and when the opening day will be. We may hear about this new dining option during the Disney Parks panel on Sunday. Stay tuned to DisneylandToday(.net) for all the latest news coming out of D23 this weekend.
