If you’re taking your infants, toddlers, or tweens to Disneyland for the first time, it helps to prepare.
Knowing what you’re allowed to bring, not bring, and the location of Baby Care Centers will help relieve some of the stress of bringing your family to the parks. If there’s anything you think we should add to the list, we encourage you to contact us by email.
Where are the Baby Centers located?
There is a single location in each park. In Disneyland, the care center is located at the end of Main Street next to First Aid. Amenities include a nursing room with chairs, changing room with tables, toddler-sized toilets (guests under 42″ tall), feeding area with highchairs, a kitchen with a sink, bottle warmers, and microwave, and vending machines with baby food, formula, juice, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, pacifiers, and over-the-counter medication.
In California Adventure, the care center is next to the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop and across from The Bakery Tour in Pacific Wharf. The amenities are the same and guests can purchase a few essentials in the vending machines — all available with a credit card. Cast members will be happy to direct you to either location if you get turned around. In addition to Baby Care Centers, baby changing stations can be found in most Disneyland Resort restrooms.
In the case your child becomes lost, report the missing child to the nearest Cast Member for assistance. Children will be escorted to the nearest Baby Care Center and Lost Children facility by a Cast Member. Children who are separated from their families in the Downtown Disney District will be brought to the Disneyland Hotel or the Baby Care Center and Lost Children facility in Disneyland.
Research which rides are best for your kids
Toddlers can ride most of the rides at Disneyland. On Fantasyland dark rides, smaller children can sit on a parent’s lap or sit on the inside of a ride vehicle with an adult on either side. They should sit comfortably with their arms and legs away from the outside of the vehicle. Some rides have frightening scenes or flashing lights that might startle children or affect individuals with medical sensitivities. These might include:
- Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
- Pinocchio’s Daring Journey
- Snow White’s Enchanted Wish
- Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin (currently closed)
- The Haunted Mansion
Which Disneyland attractions have height requirements?
- Autopia, 32″
- Gadget’s Go Coaster, 35″ (currently closed)
- Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, 38″
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, 40″
- Space Mountain, 40″
- Splash Mountain, 40″
- Star Tours, 40″
- Rise of the Resistance, 40″
- Matterhorn Bobsleds, 42″
- Indiana Jones Adventure, 46″
What can I bring into the park for my children?
When spending the day at the parks, it’s good to bring a few essential items in a backpack or stroller storage compartment. Plastic water bottles, juice boxes, snacks, and wet wipes are all allowed in the park. Glass containers and hard coolers are not allowed. Water bottles can be refilled at many of the restaurants and hydration stations around the park. For more tips on what to pack for your vacation, check out our article here.
