Upcoming Changes to the Magic Key Program

Magic Key Program

Disneyland has announced updates to the Magic Key Program, specifically to the Enchant Key. The Enchant Key continues to offer reservation-based admission to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, but with adjusted blackout dates and updated pricing. Guests should always confirm details directly on Disneyland.com for the most accurate and current information.

Updated Pricing

The Enchant Key was recently available for $974.00 (plus tax) or $72.92 (plus tax) for select California residents after a $99.00 down payment. Starting January 13, 2026, the new Explore Key will feature an updated rate of $999.00 (plus tax) and feature fewer blackout dates during the summer months of June and July. While still more affordable than higher-tier options like the Believe or Inspire Keys, the Explore Key’s price increase reflects the added demand and expanded benefits of the program.

Blackout Dates

One of the biggest factors in choosing a Magic Key is the calendar of blackout dates. The Enchant Key currently has more blackouts than the higher tiers, particularly during peak seasons such as summer, major holidays, and weekends. Guests should review the blackout calendar on Disneyland.com before purchasing to ensure the dates align with their plans.

Like all Magic Keys, the Explore Key will require guests to make park reservations in advance. Holders can book up to four (4) reservations at a time, depending on availability. This system helps manage crowd levels and ensures a smoother guest experience.

Discounts and Perks

Enchant Key holders continue to enjoy discounts on select dining and merchandise, as well as opportunities for special Magic Key events. This will not change when the Explore Key becomes available to the public in January of 2026. While the discount percentages are lower than those offered to higher-tier passholders, they still provide meaningful savings for frequent visitors.

Important: Current subscribers to the Enchant Key will continue to use their key until their scheduled renewal date. When it’s time to renew your Magic Key (after January 13, 2026), the Enchant Key will no longer an available option and guests will need to accept the Explore Key or upgrade to a higher-tier key.

Why Choose the New Explore Key?

The Enchant Key is ideal for guests who:

  • Visit Disneyland Resort regularly but don’t need access during peak holiday periods.
  • Want a balance between affordability and flexibility.
  • Appreciate added perks like dining and merchandise discounts.

The upcoming changes to the Enchant Key reflect Disneyland’s ongoing effort to balance guest demand with park capacity. While pricing and blackout dates have shifted, the Explore Key will remain a strong option for locals and frequent visitors who want consistent access without the premium cost of higher tiers.
