For years, “Magic Morning” was a beloved perk that allowed guests with certain multi‑day tickets to enter Disneyland Park an hour early on select days. However, the program has evolved, and it’s important to stay up to date with the current offerings.
What’s Changed
- Magic Morning & Extra Magic Hour: These programs have been retired.
- Early Entry: Guests staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel (Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, or Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel) now receive Early Entry benefits.
- Timing: Early Entry allows hotel guests to enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure 30 minutes before the posted opening time each day. (Disneyland Park: Tues, Thurs, Sat, Disney California Adventure Park: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun)
This change ensures that hotel guests enjoy a head start on popular attractions, dining, and photo opportunities.
Who Qualifies
Only guests with valid theme park admission and a confirmed stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels are eligible for Early Entry. Standard ticket holders without a hotel reservation do not receive this benefit.
Early Entry can make a big difference in your day:
- Shorter Wait Times: Popular attractions like Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, and WEB SLINGERS often have shorter lines during the first 30 minutes.
- Photo Opportunities: Capture iconic shots in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle or Pixar Pier before the crowds arrive.
- Dining Convenience: Grab breakfast or a coffee with less hustle before the park fills up.
Planning Tips
- Check Park Hours: Opening times vary, so confirm your Early Entry schedule in the Disneyland app.
- Arrive Early: Hotel guests should plan to be at the gates at least 30 minutes before Early Entry begins to maximize the benefit.
- Coordinate Reservations: Dining and Lightning Lane reservations can be timed around your early start for a smoother day.
Our Thoughts: While the original Magic Morning program is no longer available, Early Entry offers a refreshed way to enjoy extra time in the parks.
