What Is Disneybounding?

Disneybounding

Disneybounding is fun to do if you’re alone or with a group of your friends.

It also doesn’t violate the costume policy. Did you know that Disney has a strict costume policy? Guests 14 years of age or older can not wear costumes at the Disney parks. No one loves this rule, but it exists for several practical and safety reasons.

Pooh DBWhen putting together your outfit, think of fun ways to theme your clothing. Colors, accessories, and props (like a stuffed animal) will help sell your Disneybound. This particular suggestion of Winnie the Pooh includes bumblebee earrings and a golden honey pot charm for a necklace or bracelet. Men could swap out the skirt for pants and the heels for loafers or boots. There are many different ways you can customize a character for every shape and size. What was your most recent Disneybound? We’d love to see your examples on our social media pages. We may even hold Disneybounding contests in the near future.

Is Disneybounding for Everyone?

Disneybounding Snow WhiteDisneybounding is best described as dressing up as your favorite character but not confusing people you’re a cast member at the parks. Some examples may be wearing similar colors, wearing a loosely themed outfit resembling the character, or just wearing clothing with your favorite Disney character all over it. Disney doesn’t allow the signing of autographs or telling other guests that you’re the character. It’s best to have fun with the creation of your Disneybound and include your friends and family for an exciting new way to experience Disneyland and California Adventure.

  • Masks worn by guests 14 years of age or older (unless they are for medical purposes) aren’t allowed. Some masks worn during select special events, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Star Wars: Galactic Nights and Disney Villains After Hours are permissible.
  • Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics
  • Excessively torn clothing

In case you try to change in the park once you’re past a security checkpoint, a cast member may ask you to change your clothing. Refusal to do so could result in being escorted off property. Unfortunately, you can’t wear costumes sold in Galaxy’s Edge in the park. This includes the Jedi and Sith robes currently for sale.
