The much-loved nighttime spectacular Fantasmic! is returning on May 24, 2024. After a year-long hiatus due to a tragic fire, the show returns with a bang, featuring new elements and returning favorites.
A Spectacular Comeback
Fantasmic! has been a staple nighttime show of Disneyland since its opening in 1992. The show had to shutter temporarily in April 2023 due to some special effects going awry. But now, it’s back, and it’s better than ever.
The reimagined version of the show features brand-new special effects and a completely reimagined battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent. State-of-the-art projections, live performances, and character appearances will bring beloved Disney stories to life.
What’s New?
One of the most exciting changes is the new battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent. In this reimagined nighttime spectacular, Maleficent, wielding her ensorcelled powers, ascends to a height of 35 feet to set the Rivers of America ablaze. This scene will surely be a crowd-pleaser, adding a new level of excitement to the show. In addition to the new elements, the show also sees the return of a beloved Peter Pan scene, which replaces the Pirates of the Caribbean.
Will There Be New Dining Packages?
We’re happy to announce: Absolutely! Disneyland guests can purchase dining packages with exclusive viewing areas for Fantasmic. The participating restaurants are The Blue Bayou, River Belle Terrace, and Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante. Check out the brunch, lunch, and dinner menus and make reservations on the official Disneyland website. *Guests must have theme park tickets and a reservation for the day of the dining package and Fantasmic show. Dining packages do not include admission to the park.
